Troubleshooting

Access A2000 and A3000 Garage Door Operators

My transmitter (“remote” or “clicker”) is not working.

    1. Check that the red LED in the left corner of the transmitter is lighting up solid red.
      1. If the LED does not light up, try pressing and releasing the transmitter button rapidly and repeatedly until the LED lights up when the button is pressed.
      2. If the LED doesn’t light up, there is a problem with your transmitter.  Please call (858) 638-0300 for assistance.
    2. On your wall button, check that there is a solid red light behind the square button at the bottom of the panel.
      1. If the light is flashing, your operator is in “Vacation Lock” mode, which restricts access from transmitters and exterior keypads.  To get out this mode, press and hold the top button on your wall panel (the button has a picture of a lock next to it) for three (3) seconds until the light behind the square button becomes solid. You should now be able to open your door with your remote.
    3. If the LED on your transmitter lights up, and the light is solid behind the square button on your wall unit, please call (858) 638-0300 for assistance 24 hours a day.

My transmitter only works when I am very close to my door.

    1. Check the back of your operator to ensure that the antenna is hanging down off the back of it.
      1. If the antenna is tucked up on top of the motor, bring it out so it is hanging down off the back of the motor.  You should now be able to use your remote 40 feet away from the operator.
    2. If the antenna is down but you are still unable to open your door with remotes, please call (858) 638-0300 for assistance 24 hours a day.

My door will not open or close.

    1. Press and release your wall button and then look up at your operator rail to determine whether the belt is moving.
      1. If the belt is moving, your operator is disengaged (i.e., in “manual mode”).
      2. PLEASE NOTE when the door is in manual mode certain safety measures are disabled. Do not open / close door inbetween sections as injury can occur.
      3. To re-engage your operator, gently pull the red emergency cord (hanging from your operator) at a 45 degree angle away from your door.
      4. Next, locate 2 small silver torpedoes on one side of your belt.  Press and hold your wall button and watch the torpedoes move along the belt until they are heading toward the “trolley” (a black connector from which the red emergency cord hangs). Once the torpedoes pass through the trolley, they should catch and re-engage your door.
      5. If the torpedoes pass through the trolley but do not catch the door, then the trolley was not properly placed into the locked position.  Re-attempt steps b and c above.
    2. If the belt is not moving, or you are unable to re-engage your operator, please call (858) 638-0300 for assistance.

My door operates correctly, but the lights on my operator are flashing.

    1. Please call (858) 638-0300 for assistance.

My door opens but will not close.

    1. Locate the photo eyes (“safety sensors”) at the bottom of either side of your garage door opening.
    2. Check that one of the photo eyes has a solid red light, and the other has a solid green light.
      1. If the lights are not on, or the lights are flickering, there may be something blocking the door opening.  Move any items or boxes from in front of or between the sensors.
      2. If there is nothing blocking your photo eyes, there may be dirt or cobwebs on the sensors.  Carefully clean the face of both photo eyes.
      3. If there is nothing blocking the photo eyes, and the photo eyes are clean, the sensors may have been knocked out of alignment. Carefully adjust the sensors until they are properly aligned and the lights on each are solid.
    3. If you cannot get the door to close, please call (858) 638-0300 for assistance.
